Workflow discovery and mapping
We map the workflows as they run now, including the informal steps, the workarounds, and the places where people check with each other before moving on.
Service
Reduce repeated manual work and handoffs, improve how documents and requests move, and introduce technology in a sequence your team can absorb.
Software selection follows process discovery, not the other way around. A new platform cannot fix a workflow nobody has defined. We start by describing the work clearly, then decide whether tools you already own are enough, whether a configuration change will do, or whether a new tool is justified.
Most engagements begin with the existing toolset and the people who use it every day. This keeps costs proportionate and reduces the disruption of change.
The depth of each area depends on the workflows in scope.
We map the workflows as they run now, including the informal steps, the workarounds, and the places where people check with each other before moving on.
We list the systems in use, what each one is used for, where data is typed twice, and which integrations already exist. Often the existing tools can do more than they are used for.
We follow documents and requests from first contact to filing: how they arrive, who sees them, how they are tracked, and how status is communicated back to the people waiting on them.
Not every step should be automated. We look for steps that are repetitive, rule-based, and high-volume, and set aside steps that depend on judgment or relationships.
Good workflows make exceptions visible and assign them to someone. We design review points, approvals, and escalation paths before any automation is switched on.
New steps only help if people use them. We plan training, documentation, and a clear point at which the old way stops, and we check adoption after go-live.
Changes are scheduled around your busy periods. For a CPA or tax practice, that often means avoiding major cutovers during peak season and using quieter months to test, train, and refine. We recommend one or two changes at a time so each can be measured.
Where a client portal, document system, or other platform is involved, we review data handling, access permissions, and retention needs before changing anything.
We are open about the relationship between NVSR Advisory and DocumentRight. Where a platform is relevant, we will say so and explain why. Recommending a platform is never a condition of working with us.
Tell us which requests, documents, or handoffs take the most effort. We will help you see whether the fix is process, tooling, or both.
